Sage and Cranberry Shrub
Ingredients:
1 pound fresh cranberries
2 tablespoons of water
1 cup pure cane sugar
1 cup unfiltered organic apple cider vinegar
2 fresh sage leaves
Instructions:
Place berries and water in a saucepan and cook on medium-low until the berries pop and become soft, about 10 minutes. Place the cranberries in a quart jar and add sugar. Put a lid on the jar and shake well until well combined. Let the cranberry and sugar mixture sit for 5 hours. It will become a syrup. Add De Nigris Apple Cider Vinegar and sage leaves then cover and shake. Let sit for 24 hours, shaking occasionally. Strain out the solids and pour the syrup into a clean jar. Store in the refrigerator. Make a Sage and Cranberry Shrub cocktail by mixing 2 ounces of syrup with a cup of club soda and two ice cubes. Add 1 ounce of vodka for an adult version.
