Apple Cider Vinegar’s Effect on Blood Glucose Mentioned in January/February 2015 Issue of Dr. Oz The Good Life

The January/February 2015 issue of Dr. Oz The Good Life features a section called, “Ask Dr. Oz Anything.” In this section, Dr. Oz suggests drinking apple cider vinegar for the claim, “Sip on this [apple cider vinegar] to keep blood sugar in check and slim down quicker.”

Dr. Oz indicates that that the evidence is minimal related to vinegar consumption and weight loss. However, he advises that there is evidence to indicate that the acetic acid in apple cider vinegar reduces blood glucose levels. The article cites Dr. Carol Johnston’s research (Arizona State University) in this area.
