Bread and Butter Pickles

Ingredients
25 Cucumbers (3-5 inches in length)
12 Onions
1 Quart White Distilled Vinegar
2 Cups Sugar
2 Tsp. Mustard Seed
2 Tsp. Turmeric
2 Tsp. Celery Seed
Instructions
Wash and drain vegetables.
Slice cucumbers and onions.
Soak in salt solution (2 quarts ice water and 1/2 cup salt) for 3 hours.
Mix vinegar, sugar and spices.
Bring to a boil.
Add cucumbers and onions just to heat through.
Pack hot cucumbers into jars, leaving 1/2-inch head space.
Cover with boiling hot liquid.
Adjust lids.
Process in boiling-water-bath for 15 minutes.
